Freebie Friday! #13

I've been at it again!

Stealthily taking photo's of magazines again I mean! This month we've got some really good offerings. Also, a random nugget of information, this Freebie Friday is the 13th edition and it's on Friday 13th, spooky huh?!

Glamour £2 are giving it's readers a free Clinique gift. There's four to choose from including a red lipstick, a nude lipstick, a moisturiser or a mascara (together worth £29).

Marie Claire £3.99 are giving it's readers a free Elemis sample. There are two to choose from, the Pro-Radiance Illuminating Flash Balm or the Papaya Enzyme Peel. Both dubbed "hero" products of the Elemis range (together worth £22.50).

InStyle £3.99 are giving it's readers a free sample of Eyeko Mascara worth £12

By no means free in the true sense of the word but worth it to try something new and something that would normally be out of my price range!

What's the best thing you got out of a magazine?

Freebie time again! The beauty mags have got some good freebies this month so without further ado here we go!

Elle is giving its readers a free Orly Nail Polish (worth £10.50)

Glamour is giving its readers a free Nails Inc Nail Polish (worth £11)

InStyle is giving its readers a free Ren Skincare Set (worth £14)

I know it's not exactly free, but it's a lot less than buying the product the full price. Tesco also has some special offers on their magazines, InStyle is reduced from £3.99 to £2.50! There's only a couple of weeks left on these so be quick!

Freebie Friday! #11

I have to say magazine freebies recently have been pants or non existent!

But I'm glad to say I have an offering for you today, although I'm late to the party this month! Marie Claire are offering its readers a free Balance Me cleanser, hand cream, or face cream. I opted for the cleanser as I've heard good things about it. In a previous magazine freebie I had a face wash from Balance Me and the smell was horrific! I'm hoping the cleanser is better!

In magazines like these I find there's not an awful lot to read in them, the amount of adverts is just silly but it's worth it for the freebies and you often find smelly perfume pages (there's a Gucci Bamboo in this one!) and other little samples (there's Garnier BB Cream and Elvive Extraordinary Oil Shampoo)

Have you found any good freebies recently?

Freebie Friday! #9

I know I've already spoke about Latest Free Stuff before (HERE) but I wanted to show you a couple more free samples I've had from them.

I've signed up to their mailing list and they send me emails most days with freebies, although I know some people won't like that you don't have to sign up to a mailing list you can just check the site regularly. Do read freebies carefully, as some require subscriptions (which you can usually cancel after) or other requirements. I usually scan through their emails quickly and see if anything takes my fancy and recently I received these goodies in the post!

I got samples of Garnier Ultimate Blends Strength Restorer shampoo, conditioner, and serum and also an Eve Lom Rescue Mask (coming to a Mask Monday near you soon!)

I've not been paid, sponsored etc to write this post but I just wanted to show you some of the free samples I've had from this site and as a blogger (and a shiny new one!) it's really good to get samples like this that I can write about and as a budget blogger nothing is more budget friendly than a freebie!

Have you found any really awesome freebies?

Freebie Friday! #6

It's FRIDAY! I bring another Freebie Friday instalment to you today but this one is a double whammy! I'd like to introduce another little mini series D.I.Y Beauty which is as the name suggests, beauty that you can make yourself! I was looking for inspiration for Freebie Friday and I remembered a little trick that you can do with a little bit of fixing spray and an eyeshadow of your choice, and thought that's a good idea to share for Freebie Friday.

All you do is mix a tiny bit of fixing spray (I'm talking like a drop, you can use water too if you haven't got fixing spray) and add your eyeshadow choice (loose or pressed) and mix it together with a brush in your eyeshadow lid/palette/whatever you have to hand (I used a dry shampoo lid!) until you get your desired colour and pigmentation! Apply with a brush to achieve your desired look. I also used some black liner to make the colour pop!

pic of spray and palette

Then I got thinking about other beauty things you can make yourself with bits of stuff you might already have at home and thought that you might like to join me in a little creative experiment, so look out for D.I.Y Beauty posts in the future!

My next freebie is some more magazine freebies as next months issues start to come out. This time we have Instyle magazine who are giving away 1 of 4 Eyeko products to their readers

Eyeko mag freebies
This photo came from Instyle.co.uk I do not own it

Also, Cosmopolitan are giving away 1 of 4 different colour CID Nail Polishes!

Cosmo cover may 2015
This photo was taken from Google. I do not own this photo

I haven't picked these up myself just yet (hence the photo's not being taken by me) but I soon will do!

Freebie Friday is going to become a "as and when I find them" type post in future, but don't worry it's not going away!

Don't forget to check out my D.I.Y Beauty posts in the future!

Freebie Friday! #5

Have you got that Friday feeling?

Today's Freebie Friday is about shopping what you already have! Shop your stash! I'm sure most of us have stuff we've forgot about that's tucked away in a drawer just waiting to be rediscovered, so rather than going out and spending your pennies, dig through your drawers and see what you find!

Here's what I found after some digging!

Shop your stash photo

Everyday Minerals Base (semi-matte) - I got this ages ago to go under foundation but these days I find it's just nice to wear when I do need much coverage and as it's a powder it keeps my shine at bay.

GOSH Prime and Refresh Eye Roll On - I barely used this when I got it but now I have a baby this is nice and cooling around my tired eyes.

Sleek Contour Palette - I got this when I didn't understand the whole contouring thing but now I'm a bit more educated I'm going to give this a try again!

Revlon Matte Balm in Striking - I went crazy when these first came out and bought pretty much all of them. I found this and I'm so glad as I want to start wearing a red lip after going nude for so long!

Revlon Lip Butter in Macaroon - I can't believe I ever put this down! These are so versatile, you can blot them down to what looks like a coloured balm or you can build up to a pop of colour. Definitely going back in my handbag!

So don't go shopping, see if you can rediscover some hidden treasures!

Freebie Friday! #4

It's Freebie Friday time again.

Today I have another magazine freebie (I know it's not technically a freebie as you have to pay the £3.99 for the magazine but it's still good!) in the form of Marie Claire who are giving away one of four different Nails Inc nail polishes which are usually £11 each in their April edition!

The shade I got is Fashion and I am currently wearing this nail polish and it's a lovely lilac-grey colour as you can see below.

Please ignore the sloppy paint job, this was hastily done whilst Splodge was napping!

Nails Inc polishes are lovely and amongst the best I've used but there's no way I'd spend £11 on a nail polish, however to their credit they do seem to come with mags quite a lot so worth picking up a mag if you see a colour you like in it!

Freebie Friday! #3

Hello Wonderer's! It's that time of week again!

A photo of some free goodies from Lush

So this time we're talking store freebies, and today's instalment is a gush about Lush! I was in Lush yesterday picking up a gift for my sister-in-law and I received great customer service, they asked if I was okay and when I said I was just tooting they left me to do so. When I was actively looking for something they asked if I needed help and the lady I spoke with was really obliging and helpful and had great product knowledge.

Now this brings me to my point, when I asked the lady for the sea salt shampoo I was looking for she took me to it and she was telling me about it. We we're chatting about it for a bit and then she was like "why don't I give you some to try first and then you can buy it if you like it." I was really impressed by this, I'm sure it's something they'll do regularly and in Lush they have pots of stuff open for you to sniff and play with but I never knew they did this. It makes sense because if I like I will go back and buy it. What's more, is this was before I'd even picked anything up to buy so it wasn't even a "well since your buying stuff we'll give you this" scenario if you know what I mean. She gave me a sample of the Big sea salt shampoo and the sea salt spray (I don't think this had a specific name other than sea salt spray!). It obviously depends where you are, there probably not going to give samples away in Poundland but if your lucky and your visiting a make up or fragrance counter, even Lush or places like it you might go home with something good to try out!

I think there's a lesson we can learn here, I'm not saying walk into stores demanding samples because you'll probably get no where and that's just cheeky but that a bit of friendliness can go a long way and you might be surprised what comes your way from something as simple as a smile!
Have you had any good freebies recently?

Freebie Friday! #2

The best things in life are free right?

I'm back with another Freebie Friday! Today I'm talking about free samples, and would you believe there are loads of websites offering free beauty samples?! I will admit I was wary because of the old "if it sounds to good to be true then it probably is" moto but I thought what the heck let's give it a go.

Now when I say free, it will cost you your time (I can hear you from here moan, groan but keep going!). For example, in return for their sample they may want you to give them your opinion on their product, fill in a survey etc but mainly free samples spread the word of a new product, re-spread the word of an old product, and offers a kind of try before you buy experience without having to buy anything if you don't want to! They require your details, obviously they need your address to send you your sample (there are also lots where you have to go to your nearest counter or store) but make sure you look out for those pesky tick boxes which need to be ticked OR unticked if you don't want them to send emails etc I've been stung by that one before but you can always unsubscribe to mailing lists if you find yourself on theirs by accident (usually a tiny link at the very bottom of the email!)

So far I've had a biscoff spread sample (no picture for that I'm afraid, I soon scoffed that one and it was super yummy by the way!) and a seven day Vichy sample. Both these samples came with money off coupons attached so if you wanted to buy the full size version you can get some money off too! Bonus! I've just sent off for a sample of Ice Elements 2 minute miracle cream, with a name like that I'm eager to see if the claims are true! There's not just beauty stuff there's all sorts of things on there.

The sites I've used are Latest Free Stuff and Magic Freebies UK but an internet search throws up a load of sites for you to try. Give it a go, you never know what new discovery you might make!
