Collection Cream Puff Lip Cream

A photo of Collection Cream Puff Lip Cream

I have a serious lipstick problem, to the point I might even need counselling I just can't help myself and when I find one I like I can't just stop at one I have to have more.

This Collection Cream Puff Lip Cream is one of those such discoveries. It's a matte finish, which I'm very much in to at the moment but unlike a lot of matte lip products out there it's not super drying. Now I'm not saying it doesn't dry out my lips at all but it's considerably less than most. It's also really comfortable to wear and goes on really smoothly, it's creamy when you put it on initially but then it sets to a lovely matte finish. It lasts amazingly too, I road test most of my make up while I'm at work and I only really have to apply after I've eaten or after about 4 hours and considering the price tag (RRP £2.99) I think that's really good!

excuse the red nose, I had a cold!

There is only one real downside to these and that is the limited colour range. There are only four colours which I think is a travesty! The one I have here is Cotton Candy which as you can see from the photos above is a lovely, neutral, dusky pink colour. Not pictured here, I also got the shade Angel Delight (for some reason this one seems more difficult to find in stores. FYI I got mine in Wilkos) which is a really good nude colour (Google it to see the colour!) I tend to find that high street brands can never get a nude colour right but this one is spot on (not to be confused with the other nude colour they do Powder Puff which I think is really pale and awful!)

Collection as a brand are full of hidden gems and too easily overlooked!

Find Collection Cream Puff Lip Creams HERE or in your local Boots, Superdrug, or Wilkos.

Have you tried anything from Collection?

Collection Extreme 24hr Eye Liner

When it comes to winged eyeliner, I'm pretty hopeless.

It didn't stop me wanting to do it though, and being cat obsessed as I am, I so desperately wanted cat flicks! (Sad but true!) but Collection Extreme 24hr Eye Liner has helped me achieve my dream. It's essentially a felt tip for your face (more specifically eyes!) and being able to hold it like a pen makes it much easier for a noob like me. I'm not saying everyone who gets this will magically be able to wing their eye liner but it helps and with some practice I've finally nailed it.

To do my flicks, I line my upper lash line as usual and then I hold the liner against my bottom lash line, like an imaginary ruler and then press the long side of the tip against my eye to create a template for my flick. I then blend that into the rest of my liner and then set the whole lot with powder before I move onto mascara. I found that quite difficult to describe so I'll add a picture below to make sure your catching my drift!

Look at my concentrating face! Least I've not got my tongue out! Anyway, I have serious creasing issues when it comes to eye make up thanks to my hooded eyelids but this really stays put for me (and I do set with powder too) I think 24 hours would be an exaggeration but certainly 8+ hours whilst I'm at work and with a RRP of £2.99 whats not to love?

Get yours HERE or in your local Boots or Superdrug.

Easy Eye Look

Photo of eye look

So I was playing around with eyeshadow and thought I'd share my result with you.

It's not at all difficult, in fact it's probably insulting that I'm writing about something so simple but I liked the effect and thought I'd share it with you!

I used Maybelline Color Tattoo Eye Shadow Cream in Creamy Beige all over my eyelid and then used my finger and tapped it in my The Balm Mary-Lou Manizer and used this just in the centre of my eyelid. I found using highlighter like this adds subtle dimension to eye rather than it being just a flat colour. I finished off with Collection Extreme 24hr Felt Tip Liner creating a slight cat flick at the outer corner, I smudged some Lacura Eye Liner Pencil (similiar herea third of the way along my bottom eyelashes and then coating my eyelashes in a few coats of Bourjois Volume  Seconde Waterproof Mascara.

That's all there was too it!

What's your favourite eyeshadow?

Collection Eyes Uncovered Nude Bronze Palette

Not another nude palette! But hear me out, Collection's new offering is well worth it. I had swatched the urban decay naked 1 palette whilst in Debenham's the other day and was super impressed by the butteriness (I don't think that's a word but what the heck!) and the pigmentation but I do not have a whopping £38 lying around and I don't even have £23 for the smaller basics palette either! I then went into Boots and swatched the Collection Eyes Uncovered palettes.

These are the Nude Bronze swatches, and this is the palette I ultimately went for but they also do a Nude and Nude Grey. There's also a Little Mix All About Eyes palette too! I can only say that the matte shades swatched well as the palette I picked up are all shimmers but as you can see above the shades are really well pigmented (even the Ivory shade, but you can't see this very well on my very white skin!) and they have stayed on well without creasing (over a primer), and creasing is a big problem for me as I have hooded eye lids. The only downside to these eyeshadows is that there is quite a bit of fall out when you dip your brush in, but this can be reduced if your careful. Below I'm wearing Mink all over the lid and Nutty in the crease and smudged slightly under the eye.

These are available in many places but you can get yours at Boots HERE for a very purse friendly £3.99!
